With the game locked at 1-1 and Town missing a host of chances Salmon, who had re-signed for the club from Salford earlier in the day, came off the bench for the final 20 minutes and had a near instant impact, as he out jumped the defence to head home from a Matty Cross corner, to the delight of his team mates and fans. Skipper Tom Hardwick headed home five minutes from time from another excellent Matty Cross corner, to secure all three points, as Warrington continued their steady climb up the table. Lee Madin gave Town the lead mid way through the first half when he turned on a six pence and rifled home from the edge of the 18 yard box. The visitors equalised shortly after the break and with Town missing a number of great chances the game looked to be heading for a draw until the intervention of Salmon. | ||||||
