Attendance: 181 Warrington Town: Paul Pritchard, Mike Duffy, David Ness (Chris Gahgan), Louis Corrigan, Tom Hardwick, Mike Tomlinson, Andy Potter, Anthony Hickey, Rob Hardwick (Connor Millington), Tony Evans, Gavin Salmon. Subs not used: John Bathurst, Tom Rutter, James Anderson. Mossley: Not available WARRINGTON Town were held to a disappointing 1-1 home draw with Mossley who were looking for their first points of the season. It just took eight minutes for the visitors to find the back of the net when full-back Ben Richardson cut inside the Town defence to rifle home. Warrington squandered several clear cut chances to get back on level terms in the first half, with Tony Evans seeing his one on one shot with the keeper pushed on to the post. On another day Warrington could have been 3-1 up at the break but couldn’t find a way through as they trailed 0-1 at the break. Live wire substitute Chris Gahgan (pictured right) injected some much needed pace into the team and he was eventually rewarded when he headed home from close range in the 73rd minute after a fine cross by full-back Mike Duffy (pictured top). Warrington’s new keeper Paul Pritchard was once again in fine form, denying the visitors on several occasions, as he picked up the man of the match award for the second home game running. Disappointed manager Joey Dunn will be looking for a big improvement from his players when they travel to last season’s runners up Lancaster on Tuesday night, who leap frogged Warrington in the league table, with a fine 4-2 victory at Garforth, moving into 5th, while Town dropped to 7th, with just one point separating the teams. | ||||||
