Second half goals from Gavin Salmon and another brace for Chris Thompson secured all three valuable points for Joey Dunn’s men as they completed a league double over much-fancied Chorley. Both teams had chances in an evenly balanced first half but once Warrington took the lead early in the second half when Salmon cooly slotted home after being put through from a great Chris Dale pass, there only looked to be one likely winner. Further goals from Thompson, who twice lobbed the keeper after again being put through with pin point passes were the icing on the cake to keep Warrington in the play off hunt. With other results going Warrington’s way they are now just four points of the play-off places and next up are Garforth Town at Cantilever Park next Saturday, kick off 3pm. | ||||||
