Clitheroe: Not available

WARRINGTON Town suffered a disappointing start to the new season as

they went down 0-1 at home to Clitheroe following a flat performance.
Neither team impressed but it was the visitors who took all three points thanks to a long range effort from centre forward Alan Coar on 25 minutes as Town Keeper Richie Mottram was only able to parry the ball into the back of the net.
Town’s best chance of the half came from striker Jimmy McCarthy (pictured right) who beat the off-side trap, left the defence in his wake, rounded the keeper and then fired into the side netting.
Despite the introduction of former QPR striker Karl Connolly in the second half Warrington failed to create many clear cut chances as the visitors secured all three points.
After the game disappointed manager Joey Dunn said: “That was a very flat performance and the team know they didn’t perform.”
Warrington travel to FC Halifax tomorrow, Tuesday, kick off 7.45pm and then are away at Bamber Bridge on Saturday, kick off 3pm.
The following Tuesday they entertain Wakefield at Cantilever Park, kick off 7.45pm.
