Trafford: Not available YOUNG striker Chris Gaghan (pictured above) grabbed two stunning goals as he helped Warrington Town rescue a point in a thrilling 2-2 draw with near neighbours Trafford. The visitors took the lead early on when a long range effort from centre forward Andy Lundy left Town keeper Ritchie Mottram rooted to the spot as the ball flew into the top corner of the net. Gaghan levelled midway through the half when he curled in an effort from outside the box. The visitors on a run of four straight wins, took the lead again when Warrington based striker Scott Barlow waltzed through the home defence to fire home a stunning goal to make it 1-2 at the break. Trafford could have sealed the game in the opening stages of the second half when Town defender Tom Spearitt up ended Lundy in the box but Barlow had his penalty well saved by Mottram. From that point Warrington dominated the game and got their reward on the hour when Gaghan scored a superb solo goal to set up a pulsating final quarter. But despite plenty of pressure Town couldn’t find the back of the net again. | ||||||
