Chorley: Not available WARRINGTON Town’s woeful home form continued as they lost 1-3 to Chorley despite taking an early lead through leading goal scorer Chris Gaghan. It was sweet revenge for Chorley who suffered a reverse of the scoreline at home earlier in the season as well as being knocked out of the FA Trophy by Town. Gaghan gave The Yellows the lead on 22 minutes following a great through ball from Mick O’Donnell as he rounded a defender to pass the ball into the back of the net off the inside of the post. But Warrington’s lead was short lived as Gaghan handled while protecting his face from a fierce free-kick with Chris Ward firing the penalty under the outstretched arm of keeper Richie Mottram. Five minutes later the visitors took the lead when Roger Sharrock fired home a speculative long range effort to make it 1-2 at the break. Warrington failed to create many chances in a dour second half with Chorley wrapping up all three points 10 minutes from time when Adam Farrell fired home from the edge of the box. Town’s best chance of the half fell to substitute Phil Howard who shot just wide three minutes from time. The only postive for Warrington was the second half appearance of last season’s leading goal scorer Thomas Lamb, who has returned to the team after a lengthy absence. | ||||||
