Subs not used: Jayden Lloyd. WARRINGTON Town came from behind to start the new season with a 2-1 win at Guiseley. Paul Carden handed debuts to seven players from the start and two of them marked the occasion with a goal. They had fallen behind to the very first shot of the match, fired home by Adam Lund inside four minutes on a ground where the Yellows lost 4-0 last season. But this game was very different, and the Yellows grew in to the game and equalised before half-time when striker Ewan Bange headed home from Reece Daly’s pinpoint corner. Lewis Earl, who had earlier fizzed a shot just wide, then put a teasing cross that Bange almost got on the end of. The Yellows started the second half strongly and took the lead when Alex McNally nodded home at the back post from Daly’s cross. They carved Guiseley open on numerous occasions in that period but just couldn’t find the killer blow, Daly firing a shot in to the side netting. It took the hosts 10 minutes to attempt to respond to going behind, Lebrun Mbeka putting the ball wide with his back to goal. Their best chance came five minutes from time when Mats Hewelt, another of Carden’s debutants, got down well to save from Charlie Staniland’s free-kick fired through bodies from the left. But ultimately the Yellows stood firm to the delight of a strong travelling army of fans.
